Voglicose 0.3
Composition
Each Uncoated Mouth Dissolving Tablet Contains: Voglibose 0.3mg
Indication
Voglibose is a widely prescribed medication for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, a chronic condition characterized by high blood sugar levels due to the body’s inability to use insulin effectively. It is generally recommended as part of a comprehensive diabetes management plan, which includes a healthy diet and regular exercise, to help achieve better blood sugar control in adults. One of the commonly available forms is Voglicose 0.3, offered as Voglibose dispersible tablets I.P. for convenient administration.
Belonging to the class of alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, Voglicose 0.3 tablets work by targeting the root cause of post-meal sugar spikes. After food intake, carbohydrates are normally broken down in the small intestine into simple sugars like glucose by specific digestive enzymes. Voglibose 0.3mg DT formulation inhibits these intestinal enzymes, slowing down the conversion of complex carbohydrates into glucose. This delays glucose absorption into the bloodstream, preventing a sharp rise in sugar levels immediately after meals.
This mechanism makes Voglicose 0.3 tablet particularly effective in controlling postprandial hyperglycemia (high blood sugar after eating). By smoothing out these spikes, it reduces strain on the pancreas and improves long-term glucose stability. It may be prescribed alone or in combination with other anti-diabetic medicines depending on the patient’s needs.
While not a cure, consistent use of Voglicose 0.3 tab as prescribed, along with diet control, exercise, and regular sugar monitoring, can significantly lower the risk of diabetes-related complications such as heart disease, kidney damage, and neuropathy.
