Voglicose 0.2
Composition
Each Uncoated Mouth Dissolving Tablet Contains Voglibose 0.2mg
Indication
Voglibose is an oral anti-diabetic medication primarily used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is prescribed alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise to help adults maintain better control over their blood sugar levels. Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin or cannot effectively use the insulin it produces, causing increased blood glucose levels. Effective management is essential to prevent complications such as nerve damage, kidney disease, vision problems, and heart issues.
Voglicose 0.2 belongs to the class of medicines known as alpha-glucosidase inhibitors. Its main function is to slow down the breakdown of complex carbohydrates into simple sugars by inhibiting intestinal enzymes. This action, as provided by Voglibose Dispersible Tablets I.P., prevents sudden spikes in blood sugar immediately after meals — a condition known as postprandial hyperglycemia.
The Voglibose 0.2mg DT formulation is usually taken just before meals, ensuring it works directly on the carbohydrates consumed. Voglicose 0.2 tablets are commonly prescribed alone or with other anti-diabetic medicines such as metformin or insulin.
By controlling post-meal sugar spikes, Voglicose 0.2 helps in effective long-term blood sugar management and reduces the risk of diabetes-related complications when combined with diet, exercise, and regular monitoring.
