Indication
Metformin + Teneligliptin is an effective antidiabetic medicine used for the management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus, offering comprehensive control over blood sugar levels through complementary mechanisms.
Metformin, classified as a biguanide, works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption in the intestines, and improving insulin sensitivity in the body’s cells. This helps reduce fasting blood glucose and allows the body to better utilize insulin already present in the system.
Teneligliptin is a Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It enhances the body’s natural ability to produce insulin by preserving incretin hormones, which in turn helps stimulate insulin release from the pancreas after meals. At the same time, it suppresses the secretion of glucagon, a hormone responsible for raising blood sugar levels. This significantly helps control postprandial (post-meal) glucose spikes.
