Composition

Each Film Coated Tablet Contains: - Fexofenadine 120mg + Montelukast 10mg

Indication

Fexofenadine combined with Montelukast is a highly effective treatment option for managing allergic symptoms such as sneezing and a runny nose. This combination therapy, known as Gefex LM, targets two key pathways involved in allergic reactions, offering patients relief from their symptoms.

Montelukast is classified as a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It functions by blocking the action of leukotrienes, which are inflammatory chemicals released by the immune system during allergic responses. By inhibiting leukotriene activity, Montelukast helps to reduce inflammation and swelling in the airways and nasal passages, leading to decreased congestion and improved airflow. This action is particularly beneficial for individuals who experience nasal inflammation, allowing for easier breathing and enhanced overall comfort.

On the other hand, Fexofenadine serves as an antihistamine, effectively blocking the effects of histamine, another chemical messenger responsible for allergic symptoms. Histamine release can lead to various discomforts, including a runny nose, watery eyes, itching, and sneezing. By counteracting histamine's action, Fexofenadine alleviates these symptoms, providing quick relief and improving the quality of life for those suffering from allergies.

The combination of Montelukast sodium and Fexofenadine HCl in Gefex LM tablets (specifically Gefex LM 10mg/120mg tablet) not only addresses the immediate symptoms of allergies but also tackles the underlying inflammation that contributes to these issues. This dual-action approach makes it a powerful option for individuals with moderate to severe allergic rhinitis or seasonal allergies.

With Gefex LM tablets, patients can expect a significant reduction in their allergy symptoms, leading to better daily functioning and an enhanced ability to participate in everyday activities without the burden of constant sneezing or nasal congestion. Always consult a healthcare professional before starting any new medication regimen to ensure it is appropriate for your individual health needs.
