Indications

Domperidone + Rabeprazole, marketed as Enarab DSR capsules, is a combination medication commonly prescribed for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux) and peptic ulcer disease. Enarab DSR capsules contain gastro-resistant rabeprazole sodium and sustained-release domperidone, providing effective relief from symptoms associated with these conditions.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is characterized by the backward flow of stomach acid into the esophagus, causing symptoms like heartburn and regurgitation. Peptic ulcer disease involves open sores that develop on the lining of the stomach or the upper part of the small intestine, often due to excessive stomach acid.

Domperidone, a prokinetic agent, acts on the upper digestive tract to enhance the movements of the stomach and intestines. By increasing peristalsis (the rhythmic contraction of muscles), it facilitates easier passage of food through the digestive system. This action helps alleviate symptoms such as bloating and discomfort associated with slowed digestion.

Rabeprazole, as a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), works by inhibiting the proton pump in the stomach's lining, thereby reducing the production of stomach acid. By decreasing acid secretion, Rabeprazole helps in relieving acid-related symptoms such as indigestion and heartburn. This dual mechanism of action—improving gastrointestinal motility with Domperidone and decreasing acid production with Rabeprazole—makes the Enarab DSR capsules effective in managing conditions where excessive acid and impaired digestive movement contribute to symptoms.

Enarab DSR capsules are available from various sources, including online suppliers and manufacturers. It is important to use this medication as prescribed and to follow the advice of healthcare providers regarding its usage and potential side effects.
