NEOGLIM-MP2 Tablets
Composition
Each Uncoated Bi-layered Tablet Contains: - Glimepiride 2mg + Pioglitazone 15mg + Metformin 500mg in Extended-Release form
Indication
Glimepiride + Metformin + Pioglitazone is a powerful triple-drug combination used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in patients whose blood sugar levels are not adequately controlled with single or dual therapy. Each of the three components plays a unique and complementary role in regulating blood glucose, offering a comprehensive approach to diabetes management.
Glimepiride belongs to a class of drugs called sulfonylureas. It lowers blood sugar levels by stimulating the pancreas to release more insulin. Insulin is the hormone responsible for helping glucose enter the body’s cells from the bloodstream, thereby reducing blood sugar levels. By enhancing insulin secretion, Glimepiride addresses one of the core deficiencies in type 2 diabetes.
Metformin, classified as a biguanide, takes a different route. It decreases the production of glucose in the liver, slows down the absorption of glucose from the intestines, and improves the body’s overall sensitivity to insulin. It essentially helps the body use its own insulin more efficiently and reduces the amount of sugar circulating in the bloodstream.
Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedione (TZD) that complements the other two drugs by further increasing insulin sensitivity, especially in fat and muscle tissues. It helps the body respond better to the insulin it produces naturally, allowing for improved blood sugar control.
One popular formulation in this category is Neoglim M2, which is available as Neoglim M2 tablets, Neoglim M2 tablet, and Neoglim M2 tab. Each tablet typically contains glimepiride 2 mg + metformin 500 mg, making it a reliable choice for effective diabetes management. These glimepiride and metformin hydrochloride prolonged release tablets IP are designed for better compliance and sustained action.
